What follows are a sampling of e-mails sent to us through our website. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and will share them with Jim's family.
With my deepest sadness and condolences of this amazing mans passing. The sun has truly set on a legacy. I know that his new moon will rise in a better place of peace. He was one of the greats.
Much love,

I cannot say how sorry I am, however, to learn that Jim Capaldi has died this week. I know this is a crushing blow, and my sympathies are with his family, with you, and with the worldwide family to which Traffic welcomed us all to join so many eventful years ago. We are thinking of you and are glad to have another reason to listen again to favorite melodies in honor of a departed musician's life well spent.

I was delighted to switch on the car radio late last night to hear "Holy Ground", my favourite track from "Far from Home", but very sad to hear, at the end of the track, that Jim Capaldi had passed away on Friday.
He and Steve co-wrote many wonderful songs, with beautiful descriptive lyrics, which I am sure will serve as a great memorial to Jim.
As a life-long fan of Traffic I would like to pass on my condolences both to Jim's family and to Steve.

I felt a saddened upon hearing of Jim's death. I admired him and his music. I feel his committment to themes of love were and outgrowth of not only his heart but of the spirit of the 60's. My condolences to you, his friend and his family.

Please pass on to Mr.Winwood that I am sincerely sorry about the passing of Jim Capaldi yesterday. At this moment one of my best friends is fighting for his life at the age of 48 after open -heart surgery, and he is a big fan of both Jim and Steve.I also wanted to tell Steve that I saw Traffic near Houston(The Woodlands)back in 1994 and that concert is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.Peace, and thanks for your time.

In a very odd coincidence, I was listening to a Traffic BBC Broadcast I'd found on the Internet yesterday when my brother called to tell me that Jim Capaldi had passed away. I was very sorry to hear about it. Thirty-five years ago, I took my (then) girlfriend to hear Traffic at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, the first concert we ever went to together. It was a tremendous show and is remembered fondly by both of us all these years later.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you must be feeling tremendous loss right now. Jim was a great musician and I'm sure he was a great friend. Please pass on my condolences to his family, also.

here's burning a candle for Jim,
mij regards for you all!

My condolences on the loss of Jim. I got the honor of seeing the Traffic reunion tour for a bunch of shows. It was dream come true especially seeing you guys tour with the Dead. It was the first time I seen you play with Jim(at RFK Stadium opening for the Dead). I stood about 10 feet away. It was probably the most memorable show of my life(and I seen well over 500 concerts in my life). I'm deeply saddened to realize that Traffic can be no more. I had hopes of seeing Traffic again one day. Perhaps you could put a tour together for the memory of Jim. Or put out a live recording from the Traffic reunion tour. I know you'll think of something.
Traffic music will always be alive!
I hope God helps heal the pain on the loss of your good friend.
Jim will never be forgotten.

I'm shocked and sad to hear about the passing of Jim Capaldi. Traffic was the one band I most related to as a young person, and as any real fan would say, he was a multi-talented performer and vital to that group. Having never met him, my reaction to this unexpected news was still much like I'd lost a close friend or relative. This has to be very difficult for those who actually knew him well, and I'd therefore like to pass along my heartfelt condolences.

Please send along my condolences to Steve. Jim's passing must be hitting him terribly hard. My thoughts are with him.

What a loss to the music world, but - thankfully - he made such beautiful music while he was with us.
